CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

ART: Nancy Fong, a local, award winning artist, is our Art instructor. Beginners or experts - all levels are welcome to join this class. She provides individual instruction in a group setting. The class sometimes has specific projects that are shown in a themed art exhibit at a local exhibition space. 

 

ART AND HISTORY OF ITALY: We will examine masterpieces of Italian art. The course is a half hour of a DVD lesson interspersed with fun facts, followed by a discussion.  

BRIDGE GROUPS: We have two Bridge groups that meet. The Drop In Bridge Group is a casual group that meets for bridge playing and lunch (bring your own). The Duplicate Bridge Group is open to all experienced bridge players. 

 

CERAMICS: Hand building, pot throwing or decorating pre-made items with glaze, Ann Primack, our ceramics instructor, is available to answer your questions. There are demonstrations and individual instruction in a group setting. All levels of expertise are welcome.

 

DROP IN YARN CRAFT/NEEDLECRAFT: This is an open studio to give you time and space to work on your special projects. 

 

GERMAN: Whether you're a beginner or a native speaker, our German instructor, Ellen Brooks, will help you brush  up on your basic German skills and provides instruction.

LAPIDARY: Rock cutting, jewelry making and rock polishing are done in our Lapidary studio. Past projects have included wire wrapping and mosaics. All skill levels are welcome.

OPEN STUDIO: Use our space to work on your special projects. All are welcome! Work on scrapbook pages, designing and making cards, craft projects or continue working on what you've started doing in one of our other classes. 

SEWING: Our very talented instructor, Sherilyn Cook, will give you guidance with your individual or group projects. Past projects have included coasters, table runners, totes, travel bags, etc. 

SMARTPHONE HELP: If you have any questions about using your smartphone, drop by for casual, individual help. 

STAINED GLASS WORKSHOP: Melody Turner, an accomplished and talented stained glass artist, guides the class in their individual projects. 

WEAVING: Whether you are a complete novice or an accomplished weaver, we have 15 floor looms available on a first come, first serve basis. Helen Schmucker, textile designer and weaver, is the class instructor. Join us on Tuesday mornings for instruction and stay for the afternoon to work independently. Open studio is also available on Thursdays from 9:30-2:30. 

WRITING GROUP: Share short stories, poems, etc. Join us, share your writings, or just listen. Everyone is welcome.
